Milojko Spajić entered Montenegrin politics as the finance minister, and on his first day in office, he burdened the country with 900 million euros in debt. Then, he managed to deceive the citizens with promises of salary and pension increases, which turned out to be a clever trick, moving money around without delivering any real benefits. The consequences of this deception will affect us for decades, including rising inflation, a crumbling healthcare system, the collapse of the Pension Fund, widespread poverty, and stagnation.
Like any gambler – only the stakes here are our lives – Spajić, after racking up massive debt, is now moving to the next phase: selling off assets. This is why he’s rushing to privatize Montenegro’s and Ulcinj’s most valuable resource, the Great Beach, stripping it away from both the town and the country. True to form, he’s doing it through deceit and manipulation.
To our shame and misfortune, Milojko Spajić is the de facto Prime Minister of Montenegro. In reality, however, he is under the control of Chetnik leader Andrija Mandić, whose true boss is the autocrat from Belgrade, Vučić. But Milojko Spajić and Andrija Mandić do not represent Montenegro!
That’s why it’s crucial now, more than ever, to raise our voices against yet another deceitful move by Milojko Spajić and to stand in solidarity with the people of Ulcinj. As Meto Zenka rightly pointed out, in Ulcinj, we’re defending what Vučić’s puppets are trying so desperately to tear down – a civic Montenegro!
