I don’t know what else needs to happen for people to truly understand the depth of the crisis Serbia is facing under Aleksandar Vučić’s regime. This modern black hole, which devours everything progressive and democratic, has now started swallowing people from across the region. The latest detainee is Danilo Marunović, a prominent Montenegrin director, screenwriter, and columnist, who was taken this morning by Serbia’s Nazi-like secret police, the BIA, and had his hotel room searched.
Of course, the Third Serbian Reich and its twisted leader have not disclosed why Marunović was brought in for questioning, where he has now been held for over five hours.
That’s why we urgently call on Montenegro’s incompetent, submissive government to stand behind their artist and finally protect their notable citizens who have been relentlessly persecuted by Vučić’s deranged regime for years.
We especially appeal to Ambassador Đoković to use his diplomatic authority and stop the nonsense about “brotherly ties” between Serbia and Montenegro. Because brotherly relations don’t mean locking up people who want democracy and the best for Serbia in secret police cells – and Marunović is exactly one of those people.
