The Democrats wouldn’t be Democrats if they didn’t pollute the public sphere every single day. With every statement and appearance, they unload a heap of lies, proving themselves the very definition of political dishonor. Boris Bogdanović wouldn’t be the most unscrupulous politician in the Montenegrin Parliament if he ever broke from his tradition. And this poisoner of the public sphere has a tradition of lies and projection. In his latest outburst of falsehoods, Bogdanović continues his consistent pattern of behavior. Following his party’s statute and agenda, he lies about media outlets and journalists who aren’t controlled by the regime.
Bogdanović targets portals and journalists who aren’t mouthpieces for the authorities. There’s nothing new here. This regime’s watchdog has been doing this since 2020. True, he did it even when he was in opposition. Using clumsy statements typical of a perpetual middle schooler or a Megatrend graduate, Bogdanović vents his anger on every journalist who writes or speaks the truth about him and the party. And the party is sacred, that goes without saying. Even Adolf Hitler was particularly sensitive when someone wrote about the National Socialist German Workers' Party. Still, there was more democracy in Hitler’s party than in the party born from Milošević’s DNA.
Unlike the Democrats, Hitler’s party had members who refused to salute the Führer. Take August Friedrich Landmesser, an ordinary worker at a Hamburg shipyard. Though a party member, he openly showed contempt for the Nazis. In 1936, at the launch of the German ship Horst Wessel, he refused to perform the Nazi salute. He stood silently with crossed arms amid a sea of saluting people. You won’t find anyone like that among the Democrats. The Democrats who swear by democracy but are in reality Greater Serbian nationalists, including pseudo-Montenegrins and, as Bečić once called Albin Ćeman, “disciplined Muslims”.
In the parallel reality they live in, they call themselves “Democrats”, but in truth, they are servants of Aleksandar Vučić. Servants by inheritance. As a splinter from the SNP and as custodians of everything anti-Montenegrin. So, a party masterminded by a Megatrend graduate and former SNP cadet couldn’t behave any differently. That would be completely at odds with the original template of this unscrupulous sect.
Once again, Boris Bogdanović lies. He lies about journalists whom he claims are paid 8,000 euros per article by drug cartels. We know from Sky conversations involving drug cartels that no journalists like the ones Bogdanović mentions appear there, but he and his party do. In these chats, criminals negotiate vote-buying for Democratic Montenegro. The thousands Bogdanović lied about were spent on election votes, not on news articles. For example, one of the leaders of the so-called Škaljari clan writes in one of many Sky chats how he gave people money and “secured 300 votes for Democratic leader Aleksa Bečić.” Yet, the Special Prosecutor’s Office remains silent while Bogdanović parrots the same accusations, calling those journalists “mafia mercenaries” for years.
Without a single piece of evidence to back his claims. Without any accountability for publicly spreading lies. That’s apparently what democracy looks like since 2020, one where the regime is allowed to do anything. Including targeting journalists and turning them into scapegoats. Legitimate targets to be taken down. And as if that weren’t enough for Boris Bogdanović, he found it fitting to give his “fair and just” verdict on the arrest and expulsion of Danilo Marunović. In his rambling commentary on Vučić’s display of dictatorship, which he zealously defends and justifies, Bogdanović questions the public about arrests and blacklists in Montenegro before 2020.
To remind you, when Matija Bećković, once a UDBA agent and later an informant for all Serbian services, was banned from entering Montenegro, the entire Serbian world lamented his fate. It’s not like anyone took Bećković in for questioning. Nor was he escorted to the border and kicked out of Montenegro after more than ten hours of interrogation. So, Bogdanović is lying again, big time. And without blinking. He lies about arrests and blacklists, claiming he was on them. He wasn’t even at protests against the former regime, let alone arrested or followed. But that’s Boris Bogdanović for you, the revolutionary and fighter against DPS tyranny. A bad actor for whom “the theater is everything”, as someone from the Montenegrin National Theatre said after the arrest and expulsion of director Marunović.
Shoot me, I’m still performing. Humiliate us because the tickets are already sold out. Something like that.
